Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services (STARS) is a public transportation system for the urbanized Saginaw area, which travels about 1.2 million miles per year. STARS provides basic transportation needs and is an important partner in economic development. STARS also serves as an effective tool for mobility-challenged citizens. It is the MISSION of STARS to provide safe, efficient, dependable, and affordable public transportation for ALL citizens of Greater Saginaw.

 

Position:                               Executive Assistant (Full-Time, Exempt)

 

Position Description:      The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative support performing a wide variety of confidential and complex administrative tasks in support of the General Manager and Executive Office. This position coordinates the day-to-day administrative functions of including but not limited to preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and handling information requests of the general public.

 

Reports to:        General Manager

 

Compensation:        $15.34 – $18.75 per hour

Salary range commensurate with education and experience using STARS Compensation Plan

Qualifications:        Associates degree in Business Administration or equivalent field preferred.

Experience:        Three to five (3-5) years experience in support of senior/executive level management. Experience in any of the following a plus: transportation industry, board governance, Robert's Rule of Order, grants funding, and marketing or promotions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Qualified candidates exhibit a professional demeanor and excellent business writing and verbal communication skills, possess strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Office, knowledge of various types of office materials and machines, ability to prepare and maintain accurate and confidential records and reports. Good organizational skills, ability to multi-task and time-manage is required. Must be able to work both independently and as a team-member. Ability to travel less than 25% for conferences, training, and meetings.

Examination/Screening:    Selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a drug screen, background and reference check. Must be able to successfully pass skills/knowledge test(s). All employees of STARS are subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
